Privacy Policy

Last updated November 1, 2026. This page explains what information this website collects and how it is used.

What we collect

We only collect information you choose to send us:

  • Contact form: your name, email address, optional organization and service interest, and your message.
  • Newsletter: your email address and preferred language, if you subscribe. We first send a confirmation email; until you confirm, nothing else is sent to you. We also note where on the site you signed up and when you confirmed or unsubscribed.

Each submission is stored with the time it was received. We do not use third-party analytics, advertising trackers, or cookies from other companies on this website. A small cookie remembers your language choice if you switch languages.

Visit and article statistics

To show reader and like counts on each article, and to learn which pages are read and how people find us, this website records a few things anonymously:

  • Website visits: each page view adds to daily totals per page, per referring site (such as Google or LinkedIn, on the first page of a visit) and per device type (phone, tablet or desktop). To count distinct visitors without cookies, the server mixes your connection address and browser name with a secret that changes every day and keeps the result in memory for that day only. Nothing about you is written down. If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, page views are not counted at all.
  • Readers, likes and dislikes: when you read an article for a few seconds, or press like or dislike, your browser receives a cookie with a random code (drn_vid, kept for one year). It contains no name, email or other personal details, and our server only stores it in a scrambled form that cannot be reversed. It lets one person count once per article and change their vote.
  • Short link clicks: when someone opens an article's short link (such as drianium.com/b/…), we only add to a count per article, per channel (such as WhatsApp or LinkedIn) and per day. Nothing is recorded about who clicked.
  • Protection against abuse: your connection address is held briefly in the server's memory to limit unusually repeated reads or votes, and is not stored.

Your browser also keeps a small marker in session storage so the opening animation only plays once. It is never sent to our server and disappears when you close the browser.

How we use it

  • To reply to your inquiry and discuss your project.
  • To email you new articles, if you subscribed to the newsletter. Every email has a link to unsubscribe.
  • To understand which pages and articles are useful, from the anonymous statistics above.

We do not sell your information or share it with third parties for marketing.

Where it is stored

Submissions are stored on a server operated by Drianium, with access limited to the people who handle inquiries. Contact form messages are also forwarded to Drianium's business email inbox so we can reply. Your connection address is used briefly to limit repeated submissions and is not stored with your message.

How long we keep it

We keep your information only as long as needed for the purpose you shared it for, or until you ask us to delete it. Article statistics are deleted together with their article.

Your choices

You can ask us to show, correct, or delete the information you have sent us, or to stop sending you the newsletter (the unsubscribe link in each email does this at once). Send your request through the contact page. For article statistics, simply clear the cookies in your browser: your earlier records are then no longer tied to your browser, since we have no way of knowing whose they were.

Changes to this policy

If the way we handle information changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
